It’s a great way clients can receive presentations made on custom paper printing. It’s also ideal for personal notes, thank you notes, invitations, and thank-you notes for others. How do you make a custom paper that is professional? How do you determine the right size and color for your customized printed papers? How can you get it delivered to you in time?

Most printers have an unofficial set of options that include Letter Legal, 8-Letter Portrait Tabloid, Business/Corporate Tri Port, and 8-Letter. Click the printer’s icon with a right-click and click Properties. The General section should be where the various paper sizes are listed. The [Width Line x Depth] must be chosen, then the appropriate number should be entered in the drop-down menu. If the sizes are already preset, change their values to those paper writing you want. The automatic selections will usually be accurate in most cases, however, you may have to play around.

In certain printers, the customizable page size and color options are listed as part of the printing preferences under the Page Layout menu. Click the link for the model of your printer to alter these settings. If you own an HP printer, for instance you’d select “printing preferences – size and color”.

If you have the latest version of Microsoft Office software, you will see a page setup wizard at the top of the page or within the Printing folder in the Office suite. Use the arrow keys to browse through the options available. Click “change” next the paper size to change the document size. It is not required that you press “print”.

Certain printers permit only certain properties to be changed while others let you change all of them at once. To alter the size, you must use the “set print size” command, along with a valid number. The wizard will ask how many pages you want to print, as well as whether you would like to include bounding, side margins, or both. To change the size of the pages using arrows, press the keyboard.

You may be able use the default settings if your printer doesn’t support custom size pages. A majority of printers recognize the most commonly used sizes for pages and provide you with the option of choosing. You can enter an additional number into the printer software if it is known the actual size of your paper from other programs such as Microsoft Word. If you print six hundred sheets each month, for example you can set your page size to six hundred sheets. The printer will then print 600 sheets on a page. This is the default method to get the most efficient results.

You might find that you have to click twice to accept when changing the size of your custom paper. Microsoft Word opens two different formats of documents when you change the paper sizes. If you click OK twice you will print two documents – one using the new size and one with the original standard paper size.

To print with default settings, you will have to click the “print” option and then select an unformatted file. If, however, you require a lot of custom paper sizes, such as newsletters or labels, you may have to click “print” after which choose the name field in order to type a name for the new size. Next you can use the arrows to change the size. If your printer allows you change the name of your document (e.g.in the name field) you can enter a name for the new custom size.
